Teenage Star Chido Obi-Martin Reacts To Joining Man United After Leaving Arsenal.

Teenage sensation Chido Obi-Martin sends out message after Manchester United finally confirmed his moveon Saturday following summer exit from Arsenal.

Obi-Martin first came to prominence in November 2023, when he scored 10 times in an Under-16 match against Liverpool which they won 14-3.

A seven-goal haul in one game against Norwich ensured he finished the campaign with 28 goals in 17 U-18 Premier League matches last season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta fought hard to keep the 16-year-old who turned down professional terms at Arsenal over the summer, and has now made Old Trafford his new home.

The wonderkid reportedly also rejected lucrative offers from clubs in Germany. The player visited United's Carrington training ground earlier this month as the club looked to fend off interest from Newcastle and Bayern Munich for the academy prospect.

The move was delayed as compensation had to be agreed owing to the player's age, according to ESPN.

Chido took to his social media to post images of him signing his Man United contract.

He also posted a picture of him wearing a Red Devils shirt from when he was much younger to confirm his long-term affinity with his new club.

Chido said: “Very happy to sign with this amazing club. Time to focus and achieve all my dreams. Thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far.”

Internationally, Obi-Martin has represented both Denmark and England at youth level, but featured in the Danish team at the UEFA Euro U-17 tournament.

Erik ten Hag's side will hope to integrate the prospect into their first team in the future as United aim to rebuild their starting eleven around youth.

Chido will turn 17 next month, at which point he will become eligible for professional terms. Given his rapid rise, the teenager could well represent Man United's Under-21s before the season is out.
