OFFICIAL: Man United Completes The Signing Of Defender Leny Yoro From Lille.
- Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Leny Yoro from Lille OSC, subject to registration.
- The French defender has signed a contract until June 2029, with the option to extend for a further year.
- Yoro becomes the second signing for ManUtd following the arrival of striker Joshua Zirkezee under the new INEOS era.
United paid the sum of €62m (£52.2m, $65m) fee plus €8m (£6.7m) in add-ons to Lille in order to fight off interest from Spanish and European champions Real Madrid, and lure the defender to Old Trafford.
At the age of just 18, Yoro has already played 60 first-team games for Lille OSC. Last season, he made 41 appearances in all competitions for the Ligue 1 side and scored three goals.
He was named in the Ligue 1 team of the season having helped his club finish fourth in the league.
The transfer of Yoro comes with Lille finding themselves in a difficult situation because he had one year left on his deal and to avoid losing him for free next season, as he can speak to clubs outside of France from January.

Signing two more central defenders this summer is possible for Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag following the exits of Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala, and further departures would increase that likelihood.
