Nigeria Super Eagles Striker Kelechi Iheanacho Joins Sevilla FC From Leicester City.
Sevilla FC have announced the signing of Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer from Leicester City.
The Nigeria Super Eagles striker Iheanacho, who began his career in Manchester City’s youth system joined Leicester City in 2017 on a five-year deal.
During his seven-year stay at King Power stadium, Iheanacho played a pivotal role for Leicester in securing the FA Cup and the EFL Championship title.
He scored 61 goals and provided 34 assists in 232 matches for the Foxes.
The 27-year-old has now departed the newly promoted Premier League club Leicester last month following the expiration of his contract.
Iheanacho arrived in Spain on Tuesday for his medical and finalisation of the deal. He will become the second Nigerian to play for the Spanish club in its 134-year history.
Sevilla confirmed the transfer in a statement on its website on Wednesday.
“Kelechi Iheanacho has become our fifth signing of the summer. He signs on a two-year deal and arrives as a free agent, having spent last season at Leicester City,” the statement reads.

Iheanacho signed a two-year contract, which will keep him at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium until the summer of 2026 with the option of another year.
He will join his compatriot Chidera Ejuke, who signed up for the club in June.
