Man United Keen To Hijack Real Madrid's Long Target For Leny Yoro, As They Agree A £42m Deal With Lille For The Young Defender.

• Manchester United formal bid worth over €50m for highly-rated defender Leny Yoro has been accepted by Lille today.

• The Premier League giants are keen to hijack long Real Madrid's target.

According to reports from France Football, the Red Devils have taken a decisive step to secure one of Europe's most promising young talents "Leny Yoro" with a £42million (€50m/$53m) bid for the French teenager.

Lille OSC have already accepted the offer which is considered to be the best package to that of Real Madrid, who have long been considered favourites to land the 18-year-old's signature.

The Ligue1 outfit, are eager to get the deal done over the coming days, and are now insisting with Yoro to accept Man Utd as it’s best proposal on their table.

Lille's willingness to sell Yoro this summer stems from his contract situation. With the youngster entering the final year of his current deal, this transfer window represents the last opportunity for French club to cash in on their  star defender before risking losing him for free at the end of his contract next summer.

On the other hand, Erik ten Hag’s side are understood to be in the hunt for a new first choice at centre-back at Old Trafford following the departure of Raphael Varane’s from the club at the end of last season.

Though United may have believed to have agreed a deal with Lille for the signing of Yoro, the Frenchman has not, as of yet, shown any willingness to have a personal discuss over a move to Old Trafford as his priority is to join European champions Real Madrid.

The decision up to Yoro who is waiting on the Los Blancos with whom he has allegedly agreed on personal terms.

Real are still confident that Yoro will decide to join them after submitting their own offer. If they fail to land him this summer and he stays at Lille, they are prepared to wait until next year when he will be available on a free transfer.

Yoro played the highest number of minutes of any outfield player at Lille last season, finishing with a pass completion rate of 92 per cent. He also won 63.8 per cent of his aerial duels, with those attributes suggesting that he would fit in perfectly at United.

Chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly made a crucial breakthrough in the club's summer transfer, as Red Devils are known to be targeting reinforcements at different positions on the field.

The Red Devils have already made progress, with INEOS said to be closing in on a deal to land Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutchman is reportedly eager to join United having reportedly agreed personal terms in spite of their failure to qualify for next season's Champions League.

It remains to be seen if a deal can be finalised over the coming weeks.

The INEOS have also been credited with a strong interest in bringing Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee who is closing in on a move to Old Trafford.

United have reached a broad agreement with his representatives. Meanwhile, there is still hope that United can land Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite after their latest offer was rejected by the Toffees.
