Former Man United Defender Raphael Varane Set To Join Cesc Fabregas Side 'Como' In The Serie A.

  • Raphael Varane agrees to join Como with the Italian club now 'on the verge' of signing former Manchester United and Real Madrid's defender.
  • Lionel Messi's Inter Miami were also widely linked with a move for the ex-France international, however, the player has now decided to ditch a move to the US to join the Italian club.
  • The move to be completed in coming days.

According to reports, the Cesc Fabregas-managed Serie A side, have got the green light to sign Varane who departed Old Trafford as a free agent after his contract with Erik ten Hag's side expired at the end of last season.

Fabregas is believed to have convinced Varane to make the move.

The player's representatives will now review the terms of the deal before the player undergoes a medical and puts pen to paper on a formal deal.

We understand Varane will sign a two-year contract until June 2026 plus an option for a further year.

The 31-year-old World Cup-winner, had a disappointing season at Old Trafford as he remained sidelined with a muscle injury for a lengthy period. He appeared in 22 matches across all competitions and was part of the Red Devils' starting lineup that beat Man City in the FA Cup final.

Varane could make his competitive debut for his new club on August 19 as Fabregas' side will play their season opener against Juventus.
