Erik ten Hag And Man United Agree to Contract Extension Until 2026.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag's has agreed to a contract extension until June 2026.

Next steps for Man United after Ten Hag deal extension, is adding Ruud van Nistelrooy and René Hake as part of new coaching staff.

Ten Hag's previous contract was set to expire after the upcoming season.

The Red Devils finished last season eighth in the Premier League, the team's lowest league standing since 1990, but capped off the campaign with an FA Cup win.

This would be Ten Hag's third season as United's manager since he was appointed to replace interim boss Ralf Rangnick in 2022.

 The Dutchman has not gone a single season without a trophy at Old Trafford, as he won the EFL Cup with the club in his first season.

Man United sporting director Dan Ashworth said in a statement.

"While the club's review of last season highlighted areas for improvement, it also reached a clear conclusion that Erik was the best partner for us to work with in driving up standards and outcomes," 

Ashworth highlighted those "two trophies in the past two seasons" as part of the reason behind Ten Hag's extension.

Ten Hag said in his own statement that; “I am very pleased to have reached agreement with the club to continue working together. Looking back at the past two years, we can reflect with pride on two trophies and many examples of progression from where we were when I joined”.

“However, we must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles”.

“In my discussions with the club, we have found complete unity in our vision for reaching those goals, and we are all strongly committed to making that journey together”.

Man United last finished first in the Premier League during the 2012-13 season under former boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
