Carlo Ancelotti Reacts After Winning His FIFTH Champions League As Manager.

• Real Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the final of the UEFA Champions League at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday night.

• The Spanish giants are the Kings of Europe again, taking the trophy home for a record 15th time.

History repeat itself, as Los Blancos found a way to win when it matters most following a highly contested encounter.

Dani Carvajal headed the Spaniards into a 74th-minute lead before Vinicius Junior settled matters nine minutes later.

Dortmund had the first big chance of the game, as Karim Adeyemi rounded Thibaut Courtois, who was making his first Champions League start of the season, but could not force his shot in from a tight angle. The German side could have scored again shortly after, but Niclas Fullkrug poked an effort against the post.

Madrid on their own, created little chances in the first half, and ended the opening 45 minutes without a single shot on target. 

In the second half, though, they only needed one chance as Carvajal drifted to the near post and met Toni Kroos' corner in stride, nodding past Gregor Kobel to give Los Blancos a 1-0 lead with 20 minutes to play.

The game opened up soon after, and Madrid always looked like getting a second. Vinicius provided it, taking Jude Bellingham's pass in stride and tucking an effort into the corner to seal a record-extending 15th title for Madrid, having last month been crowned La Liga champions for a 33rd time.

Dortmund, who beat Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinal, have only lifted the trophy once, in 1997, and finished fifth in the German Bundesliga this season.

They last reached the Champions League final in 2013, which also took place at Wembley, however they were beaten by Bayern Munich on that occasion. 

Madrid overcame Bayern Munich, having eliminated holders Manchester City in the quarterfinals en-route to the showpiece event in London.

It was a fifth Champions League win in six finals for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti who has been reflecting on his achievement so far as a manager in the competition. 

The 64-year-old Italian won the trophy twice with AC Milan in 2002-03, 2006-07 and three times with Madrid in 2013-14, 2021-22, and 2023-24.

Ancelotti further praised praised amazing Real Madrid squad after the win.

“It seems a dream. I’m really happy for sure,” He told TNT Sports.

“It was a really difficult game as usual. They played better in the first half and we played better in the second half.

“We had a great season, winning the league and the cup.

“It’s the history of this club. The atmosphere is extremely good in the dressing room. I have to thank the club and the players, they are humble with no ego in the dressing room. It was not difficult to manage them this season.”

Dortmund manager Terzic also congratulates Madrid for their victory.

“It’s very tough to find the right words,” he told TNT Sports

“Performance-wise we played a great game but we found out why they are champions for the 15th time.

“We were here to win and I think it was very close and there were just small things missing. But congratulations to them.

“This is a proud moment. We brought 100,000 fans to London. They thought we could win it but it’s also a little empty because we could not make it.

“This is now the challenge. We need to keep the belief. In the world of sport, there is always a winner and a loser so no need to have any doubts and just to keep belief.”

It doesn’t get much better for Madrid, as this talented squad is set to be even better next season, with numerous reports that one of the greatest player, French superstar Kylian Mbappe will be joining them over the summer.

On Thursday, May 30, Endrick played his last match for Palmeiras in a 0-0 draw against San Lorenzo. This means the next time the 17-uear-old steps onto a football field, he will appear as a Real Madrid player.

It is said that Endrick will travel to the United States to join the Brazilian senior national team for the Copa América, which will take place from June 20 to July 14. 

In July, he will head to the Spanish capital for the pre-season with Real Madrid.
