OFFICIAL: Vincent Kompany APPIONTED As New Bayern Munich Manager Replacing Thomas Tuchel.

Bayern Munich have officially appointed Vincent Kompany as their new head coach until June 2027.

The former Burnley manager, replaces Thomas Tuchel after his exit was confirmed at the end of season, as the German giants suffered a first trophyless season in 12 years.

Bayern agreed a compensation fee of around £10.2m with Burnley to appoint Kompany who signs a three-year deal with the Bundesliga side.

The ex-Man City captain and Belgium international, spent two seasons at Burnley, and won the Championship with the team in 2023 but the Clarets were immediately relegated from the Premier League this season.

Despite having a tough season at the Turf Moor, Bayern have brought in Kompany after a series of rejections in their search for Tuchel's successor with Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann and Austria coach Ralf Rangnick all turning down the job.

The four-time Premier League winner with Man City who began his managerial career with Anderlecht said after the deal: “Bayern is an institution. As a coach, you have to stand for who you are as a personality: I love having the ball, being creative, and we have to be aggressive and courageous.”
