Cole Palmer Beats Haaland, Saka, Mainoo To WIN The Premier League Young Player of the Season Award For 2023/24.

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer has won the Premier League’s Hublot Young Player of the Season Award after an outstanding first season at the West London club.

Palmer fought off fierce competition from Manchester City duo Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, Man United’s Kobbie Mainoo, Arsenal pair Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, plus Tottenham's Destiny Udogie to claim the award.

Palmer joined Chelsea from the Premier League champions Man City on deadline day last summer for a reported €47 million fee, and he has been as consistent right from his first Chelsea start against Brighton, setting up Nicolas Jackson to score in the 1-0 victory. 

He becomes the only Chelsea to player to have claimed the award since it was first given out following the 2019/20 season, when Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold lifted the trophy, then Man City's Phil Foden in 2020/21, 2021/22 and Erling Haaland 2022/23.

The 22-year-old forward also matched Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard's Chelsea record of 16 home Premier League goals in a season, with highlights including a four-goal haul against Everton and a dramatic hat-trick in the 4-3 win over Man United.

The England international has scored 22 times in the league to date and has 10 assists, meaning he has 32 Premier League goal involvement in just 33 appearances this season.

This leaves Palmer second in the rankings for goals and assists in the Premier League this season, with just one game remaining.

Despite Chelsea's abysmal season, Palmer goals and assists have won the Blues a whopping 15 points this season, and he has almost single-handedly dragged them into a place for Europa League contention next season.
