Cole Palmer Chooses Which Of His FOUR Goals Was His Favourite Against Everton.

Cole Palmer cemented his status as the Premier League's biggest breakout player this season, after the youngster netted a thrilling 29-minute HATTRICK, and 'goal of the season contender' against Everton in the first half, needing just 16 minutes between the first goal and the third goal Monday night football.

In total the Chelsea's number 20 man, scored four goals in the Premier League to defeat Everton 6-0 at Stamford Bridge, giving him his 20th goal and nine assists from his 28 Premier League games this season.

The prolific midfielder's hattrick in 29 minutes, was the fastest in the Premier League for the Blues after scoring the first with his left leg courtesy of an assist from Nicolas Jackson, heading in the second, and chipping Jordan Pickford with his right foot from long range for the third.

Jackson, who set up the first goal, made sure to put his name on the scoreboard by smashing home a goal right before halftime to give Chelsea a four-goal advantage going into the dressing room.

Following the break, Palmer added to his tally by winning a penalty, and scoring his fourth goal in the night having converted the spot-kick to become the first Chelsea player to score four goals in a single game since Frank Lampard did in March 2010.

It happened that the Blues were already 4-0 up at the time when Palmer was brought down in the penalty area on the hour-mark which saw three Chelsea players, including Noni Madueke, Jackson and Palmer, all involved in a scuffle to take the spot kick; there was pushing between the players during the spat.

Madueke looked set to win the argument, before designated taker Palmer intervened to take the ball from his team-mate, and captain Conor Gallagher also had to intervene to back-up Palmer's claim, with Jackson then returning to the group. 

Palmer, who was already on a hat-trick, stepped up and coolly converted his effort and wheeled away to celebrate, but the drama wasn't done yet with Jackson initially refusing to celebrate the goal.

In the end, words from Madueke and Malo Gusto convinced him to go and pat Palmer on the back for his effort, with the striker still unhappy at being denied the chance to take the penalty.

Despite the embarrassing incident in what was one of Chelsea's best performances of the season, Mauricio Pochettino's men weren't done adding more pains to the Toffees.

To add gloss to the emphatic scoreline, Cobham graduate Alfie Gilchrist scored his first goal for the club to make it 6-0 and conclude a memorable night for the Blues.

The result leaves Chelsea in ninth position, and they are just three points from sixth placed Newcastle in the table with at least one game in hand and seven games remaining. They can confident of bringing European football to Stamford Bridge next summer after all.

Meanwhile, it was Palmer's a second hattrick in as many Chelsea home games after notching three in that crazy 4-3 victory over Man United. 

The 21-year-old already has more Premier League hattricks than the likes of Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka and as many as legends such as Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes and Eden Hazard.

Palmer also became the first Chelsea player to score a first-half hat-trick in the Premier League and just the second player to score a hat-trick in back-to-back home Premier League appearances for the club after Didier Drogba in May/August 2010.

He became the first Chelsea player to score in seven successive Premier League appearances at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer was happy with the outcome and was proud of his part in it, especially since it allowed his team to get back to winning after their previous road trip ended in a stalemate.

"In the first half hour, everything happened so quickly," He said.

"We had a great start, and I'm ecstatic to have scored a hat-trick. That was probably something the team needed after Sunday's game and a few others. Tonight, we performed admirably. For the squad and me, it was a fantastic game.

"We had the task of showing something, and I believe we did so right away in the first minute. Tonight's performance was excellent. We're overjoyed to have won.

"I just wanted to play football, but it was a big decision for my family and me to come to Chelsea." I'm excited and grateful to Chelsea for the chance."

Palmer also responded to a question about which of the four strikes was his favourite.

"I believe my initial one was my most cherished," he answered. 

"My first goal was probably my favourite, but my right-footed goal was a bit of a swinger. "Although scoring goals and providing assists is always the goal of an attacker, my primary concentration was on playing well and attempting to position myself to score."

Finally, Palmer saved well-deserved praise for his teammate Gilchrist for scored the last goal on the night. 

"Everyone was buzzing for him," the England international added. 

"Obviously, he has been at Chelsea for his whole life. He has trained with us and put 100 per cent in every day."

Despite his impressive performance, Palmer is refusing to get ahead of himself with another crucial match coming up against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday. Palmer said, "We have had some poor performances, but then again we have battled with the big sides, done well, and got some good wins."

Cole Palmer now level with Erling Haaland in chase for Golden Boot. The two were, of course, teammates last season and this outing from Palmer will have again hammered home what a huge mistake selling him was by Pep Guardiola and Man City.

He made 25 appearances for the current champions Man City last season, of which just seven were starts. In contrast this season, he has already managed 25 goals, coming from an impressive 43 matches.

The £42m switch has seemingly paid off for both Palmer and his employers. He is a lynchpin for Mauricio Pochettino's side and has scored the most league goals in a season for the Blues since Diego Costa also hit 20 in 2016-17.

Haaland on the other hand, netted his 20th goal in their 5-1 win over Luton Town last Saturday.

Ollie Watkins’ goal for Aston Villa against Arsenal in their 2-0 victory on Sunday, was his 19th of the campaign, two more than Mohamed Salah who fired blank in the 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
