Raphaël Varane Set To Be Out For Up To SIX Weeks Due To Injury And Would Miss The Game Against Arsenal.

Raphaël Varane could miss up to six weeks with an injury picked up during Manchester United's win against Nottingham Forest, per reports.

Varane who started the game alongside Lisandro Martinez, had to be withdrawn at half-time and replaced by Victor Lindelof, and now it seems the Frenchman’s injury is worse than feared. 

Manager Erik ten Hag, speaking after the game at Old Trafford, said he does not know the extent of Varane’s injury.

“He had complaints, we didn’t want to risk him.

“We have Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, who could replace him, so we don’t take a risk.

“He had complaints and if it’s really bad I don’t know, we have to wait,” Ten Hag said.

Man United injury problems continue to grow ahead of their very crucial trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates this weekend.

It has been a less than convincing start to the season from Ten Hag’s side, who narrowly defeated Wolves 1-0 on opening Premier League fixture, and were beaten 2-0 at Tottenham before having to come from two-goals down to secure victory a 3-2 wim at home to Nottingham Forest last Saturday.

Their back line is already without Luke Shaw whose muscular injury turned out to be worse than feared and he is set to be sidelined until November. 

New signing Mason Mount was the first player to pick up an injury this season.

Varane's injury could also have a big impact on what happens with the rest of United's summer transfer window. 

The injury will also impact Varane's future in that it will surely quash further speculation suggesting he could be the next famous face tempted by a move to Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad were keen on bringing the defender to the Saudi Pro League, but are expected to divert their attention elsewhere.

Former club captain Harry Maguire seemed destined to head for the Old Trafford exit door for some time now.

The England international failed to agree personal terms with West Ham who expressed significant interest in luring the Maguire to the London Stadium and actually had a £30million offer accepted by United.
