BREAKING: Liverpool Captain Jordan Henderson Is Leaning Towards A Very Lucrative Saudi Arabia Move.

Jordan Henderson is leaning towards accepting a life-changing offer from Al Ettifaq, and is set to decide imminently.

The Liverpool captain has been approached by the Saudi Pro League side, who recently hired Steven Gerrard as their new manager last week, and they are prepared to offer him a massive contract to move him away from Anfield this summer.

Former Reds legend Gerrard who was Henderson’s former Liverpool team-mate, has played a key role in driving the pursuit of the 33-year-old England midfielder.

Henderson now have a serious offer difficult to turn down, as it would quadruple his current not insignificant £190,000 per week Liverpool wages to £700,000 a week, and would become one of the highest-paid English players in history after receiving the eye-watering contract.

He is expected to be offered a two-year contract and also includes the option of a third year.

If the move is completed l, Henderson would become the fifth highest paid football players in the world, after Cristiano Ronaldo's £3.4M p/w, Kylian Mbappe's £1.6M p/w, Lionel Messi's £1M p/w, Neymar's £950k p/w, then Jordan Henderson £700k p/w.

His contract offer from Saudi Arabia broken down will see him earn; £36,400,000 yearly, £3,033,333 monthly, £700,000 weekly and £99,726 daily.

Though, Liverpool have not received a formal bid from the Saudi Arabian club but one is expected, possibly within days, as he would be holding talks with Jürgen Klopp this week over his prospects of featuring regularly for the Reds next season, the outcome of which may also shape the long-serving captain’s decision.

The England midfielder played an influential role for Gareth Southgate at the 2022 World Cup and may be reluctant to jeopardise his international place before next summer’s European Championships in Germany.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, a decision from the player is expected imminently, which would then lead to talks between Steven Gerrard’s Al Ettifaq and Liverpool.

Henderson is understood to be giving serious thought to reunite with Gerrard at his new club in the Arabian Gulf, which would end his 12-year association with Liverpool since his move from Sunderland in 2011.

He penned his most recent contract extension in 2021, which keeps him at the club until June 2025. 

He has become synonymous with the Merseyside outfit after making 492 appearances for the club and has won nearly every trophy under Klopp's management, including the Premier League and Champions League. 

It remains to be seen whether the club would demand a fee for his signature, given the apparent riches Saudi clubs have been given by their backers, the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

For Jurgen Klopp it’s a headache he can surely do without. The Reds boss has already made plans to overhaul his midfield by recruiting Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, and Dominik Szoboszlai from for £35m and £60m respectively, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner all heading out of the door.

The 55-year-old German tactician is overseeing a massive regeneration of his team after they disappointedly finished outside of the top four last season.

In any case, Klopp has already identified his long-term replacement for Henderson should he decide to depart. The club have been in talks with Southampton over a possible move for Romeo Lavia, the 19-year-old who is valued at £50m, although there is yet to be an official bid.

After Tuesday saw the bulk of Klopp's squad return to the AXA for pre-season training, the hard work starts now for the Reds as they look to make a strong start to the 23/24 campaign.

Their first Premier League game is against Chelsea at Stamford on Sunday, August 13.
