Man United and Chelsea Agree £60m Deal For England Midfielder Mason Mount.

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Mason Mount.

The two rival clubs have finally reached a compromise after Chelsea had rejected previous bid of £40m, £50m and £55m from Man United.

The West London club, originally demanded £70m for the England international, but United refused to pay that amount.

Earlier in the week, Bayern Munich was reportedly trying to hijack the deal, but new reports says that German club didn't even show interest in Mount, leaving only Man United in the race.

Mount who was set to enter the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and negotiations over a new deal had collapsed. Had he been forced to remain at Chelsea, he could have left as a free agent next summer.

However, after a face-to-face meeting between United and Chelsea, The Red Devils have decided to pay a £60 million fee on Thursday, that's £55m plus £5m as add-ons.

Mount is currently on holiday, but his medical with United is set to take place next week, having agreed personal terms already.

The two-time Chelsea player of the season, is expected to sign a five-year deal which will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2028, with an option of a sixth year.

He will earn £250,000-a-week, which could rise to £300,000 with incentives, as he becomes manager Erik ten Hag's first new signing of the summer.

The 24-year-old, leaves the Blues having made 195 appearances for his boyhood club. He was part of the team which won the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel in 2021.

He will be part of Ten Hag's squad for the preseason tour of the United States, which begins in New York on July 20, and could make his United debut in a friendly against Leeds United in Oslo on July 12.

In other news, Man United are still interested in Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana. The goalkeeper is set to be a replacement for David de Gea who could leave this summer after his current contract expires on Friday.
