Liverpool Agree Deal To Sign RB Leipzig Midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai from German club side RB Leipzig.

The Reds have reached an agreement with the Bundesliga side to acquire Dominik Szoboszlai, a talented player from Hungary.

Despite an initial reluctance to do so, Liverpool have confirmed their intention to trigger the release clause in Szoboszlai's contract, which is believed to be in the region of £60 million (€70m, $76m) which expires at the end of June.

Talks over Szoboszlai have been kept separate to those involving Fabio Carvalho, who joined Leipzig on a season-long loan without an option to buy earlier on Friday.

The 22-year-old, who captains the Hungary national team, is expected to travel to Liverpool this weekend for a medical, having already agreed personal terms. If the move goes through, he will become Liverpool's second signing of the summer,  following the arrival of Brighton's Alexis Mac Allister for an initial £35m transfer fee.

Reinforcing the midfield has been a top target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp this summer, with the likes of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner all leaving the club.

Szoboszlai is capable of operating as a central attacking midfielder, a central midfielder, as well as a winger. His versatility will be an added bonus for Liverpool and Klopp.

He scored 10 goals and contributed 13 assists in 46 games across all competitions for Leipzig last season. 

He would be the Bundesliga side's second big-name departure, after Christopher Nkunku joined Chelsea for €60m earlier in the transfer window, and previously attracted interest from Newcastle United.
