OFFICIAL: Real Madrid Are Copa del Rey Champions For The 20th Time, After A 2-1 Victory Over Osasuna. {Watch Highlights}

Real Madrid are crowned champions of the 2022/23 Copa del Rey following a hard fought 2-1 victory against Osasuna in the final on Saturday night at the Estadio La Cartuja in Seville.

Los Blancos march to the Copa Del Rey final  is quite impressive as they beat the likes of Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and then secured a a 4-1 aggregate victory against fierce rivals Barcelona in the Semi-final.

While Jagoba Arrasate’s men managed to claw their way back to the Copa del Rey showpiece with a string of spirited performances, causing several upsets along the way, epitomised by their 2-1 aggregate win over Athletic Bilbao in the semis.

It was a truly magnificent final,as Osasuna pushed them all the way, but two goals from Rodrygo in each half, delivers a 20th Copa del Rey title in history for Real Madrid nine years on from their last triumph.

The 20 Copa del Rey titles, puts the Madrid team behind only Athletic Club on 23 and Barcelona on 31. It is the third since the new millennium, adding to the titles won in 2011 and 2014.

It is Real Madrid's third trophy of the 2022/23 campaign, adding to the European Super Cup and Club World Cup titles.

Despite being set to lose their crown to bitter rivals Barcelona, with the LaLiga Santander title on its way to the Camp Nou, Carlo Ancelotti's men will celebrate tonight but attention will soon turn to Tuesday for the important Champions League semi-final first leg against clash with Premier League champions Manchester City.

Having failed to win the trophy for the first time, Osasuna have had a solid season, and they still have a chance to qualify for Europe after winning 12 and drawing eight of their 33 La Liga games. Los Rojillos last made it to the final in 2004/05, where they lost to former holders Real Betis.
