Davido Live At The Etihad Stadium To Watch Premier League Champions Man City Celebrate Their Title In Style.

Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, known as Davido has been spotted at Etihad Stadium watching the Premier League champions Manchester City celebrate their trophy in style.

The Multiple award-winning Afrobeats artist donned the Man City's jersey as he watched as Pep Guardiola side beat visiting Chelsea 1-0 on the day.

A first half strike from Argentina's World Cup winner Julian Alvarez in the 12th minute of the encounter, separated both teams with Guardiola fielding a weakened supposed team B against the Blues. 

Davido made the trip to Manchester a day after global sports company PUMA invited the music icon for the match.

PUMA and Davido had a few conversations via Twitter after the sports company unveiled the 2023/24 Man City' new PUMA jerseys for next season on Friday May 19.

Davido reacted to the post, revealing how impressed he was by the design.

He wrote, “Hmmm. Looking like the jersey of champions ! 👀👀 Love to see it ! #PumaFam,”.

PUMA football replied to Davido's tweet shortly, and proceeded to inviting him for the title-celebration match at the Etihad.

"Thanks 001, TIMELESS like you 🫠 

What about joining us at the @ManCity match tomorrow? 🩵"

In a prompt reply, Davido requested that the sports company should ginger him and send a jet to him, which the company obliged to grant his request.

Davido later confirmed that PUMA sent the jet and that he is heading to the blue side of Manchester.

A curious fan later replied to one of PUMA football tweet, asking Where's Davido during the game?, Which the sports company quoted by sharing a picture of the superstar live in Etihad wearing a Man City jersey.

It is unclear which team Davido supports but the Nigerian is for sure a huge fan of football. He even performed at the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year December.

Before the kick-off of today's game, Man City received a guard of honour by the Chelsea players, as they stepped into the pitch for their final game of the season at the Etihad.

The Cityzens were crowned Champions after close title challengers Arsenal who ran out of steam at the business end of the season, failed to beat Nottingham Forest at the City Ground the previous day, Saturday, May 20th, 2023.

Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi scored the only goal of the game to hand Steve Cooper's side the 1-0 win that abruptly ended the Gunners title race having led the way for much of the campaign.

The win for Forest, eased their relegation threat, as they are now safe and will be playing Premier League football next season.

Man City next return to action on Wednesday night when the visit Brighton, before their final league game away to Brentford on Sunday May 28.

Having already won the Premier League for three consecutive seasons, they look to also win the treble as the play Man United in the FA Cup final on Saturday June 3, and the Champions League final against Italian giants Inter Milan on 10th June.
