Cristiano Ronaldo Reacts To Scoring Historic Four-Goal Haul, As Al Nassr Trash Al-Wehda 4-0.

 Cristiano Ronaldo has started to make his mark in Saudi Arabia, as he scores all four goals in Al-Nassr's 4-0 win at Al-Wehda on Thursday.

Having failed to score in his league debut against Al-Ettifaq and in the Saudi Super Cup against Al-Ittihad, Ronaldo scored his first goal in his third competitive appearance for his new club, courtesy of a late penalty in their recent 2-2 draw last Al-Fateh last Friday, and once he opened the scoring, it seems that he will be breaking all sorts of Saudi scoring records.

It didn’t take long for him to make an impact, at the King Abdul Aziz Stadium in Mecca, after finding the bottom right corner with a low and powerful left footed strike from inside the area in the 21st minute, to hand the visitors the lead.

In doing so Ronaldo moved from 499 league goals and hit the 500 goals milestone.

He doubled their lead just before the half-time (40th mins), this time from the opposite flank of the box, as he slipped the ball under the Al Wehda goalkeeper's legs with his right foot.

The Portuguese completed his hat-trick from the spot at the start of the second half, with a well taken penalty that gave the goalkeeper no chance. 

It was Ronaldo's 61st match in which he has scored three or more goals throughout his illustrious career.

It was also his 61st career hat-tricks, 30 before he was 30-years, 31 since he turned 30.

As if that wasn't enough, Ronaldo scored his fourth goal after 61 minutes, stroking the ball into an empty net which was the result of a goalkeeping error.

This is the eleventh time in his career that Ronaldo would be scoring has scored four or more goals in a match.

He had not scored four goals in one game since September 2019 when Portugal won 5-1 away at Lithuania.

Ronaldo's four goals ensured Al Nassr returned to the top of the table on goal difference and with a game in hand on second-placed Al Shabab.

His record in Saudi Arabia now stands at five goals in three league games, taking him into the top 10 in the scorers' chart for the Saudi Pro League. Just eight goals behind the current top scorer.

Ronaldo who recently celebrated his 38th birthday on Sunday, February 5th, joined Al Nassr in December, reportedly on a salary of £177m per year, following his controversial Manchester United exit.

He has now scored a total of 503 league goals for five different clubs in five different leagues.

Ronaldo is now playing for the fifth senior club of his career, with Al Nassr being his first side outside of Europe.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored 103 league goals across two spells for Man United.

He netted 311 times in La Liga for Real Madrid, the league’s second highest tally behind Lionel Messi on 474.

He registered 81 goals in Serie A for Juventus, and managed three goals in the Portuguese top flight for his first professional club, Sporting Lisbon back in the 2022/03 season, and now five goals with Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo is just the fifth player to have ever scored 500 league goals, legends including Pele and Ferenc Puskas also reached such a target.

It’s an accolade Messi has yet to reach as the Paris Saint-Germain and Argentina superstar has 490 league goals to his name.

Ronaldo will be in action again with Al-Nassr on Friday, February 17, against Al-Taawoun.
