Everton Owner Moshiri, Has Put Club Up For Sale, Just Days After The Sack Of Manager Frank Lampard.

Everton Football Club, have been put up for sale by owner Farhad Moshiri,  just after the sack of their manager Frank Lampard.

The British-Iranian billionaire, is looking for offers of more than £500m for the Premier League club, and a number of potential buyers have expressed interest.

According to the Guardian, Moshiri would like to recoup the money he has invested in the new stadium being built at Bramley-Moore Dock. It is understood that Deloitte has been instructed to handle the sale of the club, who are in the Premier League relegation zone. 

Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright were in attendance at their recent loss in the West Ham game, which was Moshiri's first live game since October 2021.

The Toffees are joint-bottom in the Premier League table, that is 19th place above Southampton on goal difference.

They have won just one of their last 12 Premier League games which was a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on October 22, and since the return from the World Cup break in November, Everton's only point came when they managed a 1-1 draw away at Man City.

The club have also been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions in that time, a 4-1 defeat away at Bournemouth in the third round of the Carabao Cup last November, and a 3-1 loss at Man United in the third round of the FA Cup early January.

The mood around the Merseyside club has been very toxic with blatant struggles on the pitch and fans venting their anger at the board.

Moshiri and his fellow board members have been fiercely criticised by Everton fans over recent weeks, with widespread calls for the owner to sell after almost seven years and for the directors to go.

They were dealt a double setback with Marcelo Bielsa and Thomas Frank expressing doubts over replacing Frank Lampard as manager, with Tottenham Hotspur also hijacking their move for Arnaut Danjuma.

Some star players such as Anthony Gordon and Amadou Onana have skipped training as they are trying to force their way out of the club.

Chelsea and Arsenal are believed to be interested in both players.
