PSG Reluctant To Allow Messi Celebrate World Cup Trophy At The Club Because Of Mbappe Fans.

Paris Saint-Germain are very reluctant of granting Lionel Messi the chance of showcasing the World Cup trophy to the fans in their next home game at the Parc des Princes.

Messi finally lived his dream when he led Argentina to winning the world most coveted trophy last Sunday, scoring twice as they defeated defending champions France via penalties at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.

While it was joy for the 35-year-old, however, it was agony for his teammate Kylian Mbappe who scored a hattrick, and also converting his penalty kick in the shootout, but it was not enough for the Les Bleus who were playing in their second consecutive World Cup final.

Messi and his Argentina teammates are still celebrating in their native country after the triumph.

Once the Albiceleste players return to their teams in a few days' time they expect to be honored by their clubs and fans. However, this might not be the case for Messi.

According to Goal, the Argentine captain Messi, has expressed his desire to celebrate the World Cup success by presenting the trophy at the Parc des Princes when next he returns to action.

However, PSG are very hesitant to comply with his request, especially given how the Argentine players have been celebrating in the time since.

The players of the South American country,  mocked Mbappe during their celebrations, something that has not gone down well at PSG, coupled with fact that their national team was beaten in the final.

Tensions have been growing amid goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s feud with Mbappe, as footage circulated of the keeper dancing with team-mates, before asking for a moment of silence for Mbappe back in the Argentine dressing room.

The Aston Villa keeper appeared to be winning graciously having comforted a disconsolate Mbappe. But his attitude quickly shifted from humble winner to gloating champion.

As Argentina touched down in Buenos Aires to wild scenes of chaotic celebrations, Martinez engaged in some more Mbappe baiting after a toy of the PSG star was thrown towards him and he held it aloft while waving to the crowds, with some fans burning a cardboard grave with Mbappe’s name on.

The French club chiefs, understand what the World Cup win means to the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner, but they also know that the situation is delicate, as they are afraid that those tension could be heightened when Messi returns to the club, and it may spark ugly scenes from the club’s fans.

The club are expected to make a final decision on whether they will grant Messi's request in the coming days.
