Fans Reactions As Mo Salah Celebrates Christmas Again Despite Facing Criticism From Islamists.

Footballer Mohamed Salah has been heavily ‘criticised’ once again for wishing christians around the world a happy celebration on  Christmas day. 

The Liverpool and Egyptian star on his usual manner, took to social media and posted a photograph of his family sitting in front of a blue Christmas Tree with the caption, “Merry Christmas”. 

In the photo, is his wife Magi and daughters Makka and Kayan all dressed in matching pyjamas for his traditional Christmas post.

The post has generated mixed reactions among social media users online, while some fans shower praises on him for celebrating with Christians all over the world despite being a Muslim from an Arab country, others castigated the two times African footballer of the year for the act.

Salah is a Muslim and he is not expected to celebrate Christmas, some Muslim fans feels it is wrong for him to share the moment with Christians, as they criticised him in comments of the happy family picture.

This is however, not the first time or the only reason for Salah to get criticised on social media by the Islamists.

In September, he got backlash for condoling Queen Elizabeth II’s demise. 

Salah tweeted that the people of Great Britain and the world pay tribute and bid a final farewell to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. “My thoughts are with the Royal Family on this historic and emotional day,” he tweeted. Following his tweet, Islamists from across the globe attacked him on social media.

In December 2021, he got heavily criticised for sharing a picture of himself with his family for Christmas. This was the third time in a row his Christmas pictures had upset Muslim fans, as they thought it was inappropriate for him to participate in religious activities of another faith.

He was also attacked earlier when he said that he doesn’t consume alcohol because he doesn’t feel like and many Islamists felt he should be a proud Muslim and say it as it is that alcohol is haram (prohibited) in Islam.

The 30-year-old has been in England with his club Liverpool since they started mid-season training ahead of the return of the Premier League. 

He featured for the Reds in their Carabao Cup game against Man City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday, and despite scoring on the night, the defending champions bowed out after suffering a 3-2 defeat.
