Rapper Drake Loses Huge Money On Barcelona Bet To Beat Real Madrid, As 'Curse' Continues To Haunt Him.

 Barcelona have fallen victim to the infamous Drake Curse as Xavi’s side were beaten by Real Madrid in ElClasico.

Canadian rapper Drake lost a whole lot of money following Barcelona's 3-1 defeat to fierce rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico on Sunday afternoon.

Before the Clasico at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, it was announced by audio streaming and media services provider Spotify that the Drake's OVO Owl will be featured on Barca's shirts for the game.

 

The logo is the image of OVO (October’s Very Own), a clothing brand owned by Drake, and this was done to celebrate Drake becoming the first artist to reach 50 billion plays on the music streaming platform (Spotify). 

Drake who is a strong Barcelona fan, revealed before the game that he had placed a bet of over 800,000 Canadian dollars (600,000 US dollars, 533,000 pounds) on Barcelona and Arsenal, who are playing Leeds United in the Premier League same Sunday, to both win their games.

He posted a photo of his betting slip on Instagram on Sunday, showing he could win a pay-out of 3.9 million Canadian dollars (£2.5 million) in return if both team win their games.

While the Arsenal Victory happened with a 1-0 narrow win for the Gunners at Ellad Road, courtesy of a goal by Bukayo Saka, but the Catalan team couldn't the Drake curse as they failed to win against Real Madrid.

The rapper has had mixed fortunes with regards to his betting in recent months.

He pocketed a cool £3million after Brits Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann won their fights at UFC London in July, but lost £368,000 after Leon Edwards knocked out Kamaru Usman the following month.

Goals from Real adrid’s Karim Benzema, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo saw Xavi’s side lose 3-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu, with Ferran Torres’ last-minute strike only serving as a consolation goal.

The defeat marked Barca’s first league loss of the season, and also meant Real Madrid replaced them at the top of the La Liga table, with both sides on equal footing 22 points before the match, which made the meeting at Santiago Bernabeu a vital game.
