𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘. 𝗧𝗢. 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳. Phil Foden Renews His Contract With Man City.
Phil Foden has just signed a new contract with Manchester City that will keep him with the team until 2027.
Over the past two seasons, the academy product, and boyhood fan, has been in sparkling form this season has established himself as a regular starter under Pep Guardiola, and his performance has earned him a new contract.
The 22-year-old new five-year contract at Man City is understood to be worth in excess of £200,000 a week.
He's made 182 appearances so far, scoring 52 Goals, creating 36 Assists, and won the Premier League [x4], League Cup [x4], Charity Shield [x2], FA Cup [x1], the PFA Young Player of the Year [x2], the Premier League Young Player of the Season [x2], and has been included in the UCL Squad of the Season [x1].
Speaking to Man City's website, Foden said: “It’s hard to put into words how happy I am to have signed this contract. It’s a dream come true.
“I have been a City fan all my life. I’ve trained here for so many years and I’ve even been a ballboy. I love this club so much, so to know I am going to be a part of it until 2027 feels amazing.
“I’ve improved a lot in recent years and so much of that is down to Pep and his staff, who guide me every single day on the training field. Working with them gives me the best chance of improving even more and becoming the best player I can be.
“With the squad we have here, I feel I can keep learning and winning trophies. Those are the two most important things to me.
“I want to thank every single person at City because without them I would not be where I am today. All the Academy coaches I worked with, all the players I’ve played with and everyone who works behind the scenes. It’s an honour to be part of this football club.”
Foden is currently the highest scoring midfielder in the Premier League this season so far with six goals, ahead of James Maddison five for Leicester City, and Miguel Almiron/ Mac Allister's four for Newcastle United and Brighton respectively.
