 As Chelsea welcomes AC Milan to Stamford Bridge for their Group E matchup on Wednesday, supporters will be hoping that the third time will prove to be the charm in the 2022–23 Champions League.

N'Golo Kante (thigh) is already expected to miss Chelsea's match against Milan, and both Marc Cucurella and Carney Chukwuemeka will need to be evaluated after missing the victory over Palace due to illness. However, Edouard Mendy is expected to be able to return from a knee injury.

It seems unlikely that Cucurella will be eligible to start on Wednesday due to his infection, and Jorginho, who suffered an abdominal injury at Selhurst Park, has also been listed as questionable for the match against the Rossoneri.

Therefore, if Jorginho cannot recover in time, Gallagher might be rewarded for his game-winning actions with a start in the Champions League.
