Thomas Tuchel Finally Breaks Silence After His Sack As Chelsea Manager.

The German, who led the Blues to Champions League glory in 2021, was dismissed less than 24-hours following thier disappointing 1-0 defeat away to Dinamo Zagreb.

Tuchel has endured a difficult start to the season having lost three consecutive away games.

Six days after they broke the Premier League transfer spending record in one window (£280m), Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, reportedly sacked Tuchel in a 10-minute phone call after calling him into a call conference with the club's hierarchy.

Tuchel pleaded for more time to turn things around, but was told time had run out. He was left shocked as the news sunk in.

In a statement posted on his social media on Sunday, Tuchel said he did not expect to be fired and was “devastated”.

“This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever had to write and it is one which I hoped I would not need to do for many years. I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end.

“This is a club where I felt at home, both professionally and personally. Thank you so much to all the staff, the players and the supporters for making me feel very welcome from the start,” Tuchel added.

"The pride and joy I felt at helping the team to win the Champions League and the Club World Cup will stay with me forever. I am honoured to have been a part of this club’s history and the memories of the last 19 months will always have a special place in my heart."

The former PSG and Borussia Dortmund boss was in charge of 99 games for Chelsea, won 62, drew 19, lost 18 games and won three major trophies (FIFA Club World Cup, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup) and received the World best coach for 2020/21.

Tuchel has since been replaced by Graham Potter, who arrived from Brighton along with a handful of backroom staff.

Potter has penned a five-year deal at Chelsea, but  following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday, the former Seagulls boss would have to wait longer than expected before making his Premier League debut with the Blues.
