Super Eagles Of Nigeria Lose To Algeria In International Friendly Match.

 In an international friendly on Tuesday at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran, Nigeria's Super Eagles were defeated 2-1 by Algeria's Desert Foxes.

Nigeria has now dropped points in four straight games to Algeria, including a World Cup qualifying match that Algeria was awarded after former manager Gernot Rohr fielded an ineligible player.

The Eagles' test match against the Algerian national team, which ended in a 2-2 draw at home on Friday, was much tougher because the best Algerian players were playing for the former African champions.

Nigeria took the lead in the ninth minute thanks to Lorient attacker Terem Moffi, but the three-time African champions were unable to exert any further dominance.

After Frank Onyeka fouled a rival four minutes before halftime, Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City successfully converted the penalty.

The Algerians kept up their dominance on the second, and it paid off when Youcef Atal launched a long-range shot that caught Francis Uzoho off surprise just past the halfway point.

In an attempt to score an equalizer, Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro substituted Godwin Saviour, Taiwo Awoniyi, and Cyriel Dessers in the attack in the second half.

On November 17, Nigeria will play a friendly match against Portugal.
