OFFICIAL: Premier League Fixtures For This Weekend GW7 POSTPONED Following Queen Elizabeth II Death.

Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, the Premier League announce on Friday that all of this weekend’s matches have been postponed.

Buckingham Palace confirmed The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral in Scotland on Thursday afternoon, aged 96.

She was surrounded by her children and grand-children in Scotland after concerns grew about her health during the course of the day.

In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

“The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

Queen Elizabeth II was the monarch of the United Kingdom and the commonwealth for over 70 years. 

The passing of the Queen starts a period of mourning across the United Kingdom, as detailed in a document called “Operation London Bridge”.

Flags across the country would be put to half mast, and TV and radio stations would broadcast alternative schedules.

Following the Queen’s death, her eldest son will lead the country as King Charles III.

As part of that plan, which is set out for the nine days following the monarch’s death, sports games across the UK would indeed be postponed.

Chelsea were set to travel to Craven Cottage to play Fulham in the opening Gameweek 7 fixture on Saturday under new head coach Graham Potter, Liverpool are due to play Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield, Leicester vs Aston Villa, Man City to host Tottenham later sane Saturday.

Everton were to face a trip to Arsenal on Sunday, West Ham vs Newcastle, Crystal Palace to host Man United later Sunday evening, and Leeds vs Nottingham Forest on Monday night.

Thursday’s European fixtures for Arsenal, West Ham and Man United are all went ahead.

The Gunners’ Europa League game against FC Zurich saw a minute’s silence held at half-time following the announcement of the Queen’s death. Arteta's men won the game 2-1 at full-time.

Man United and Real Sociedad pay tribute to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II with black armbands, a moment of silence, and the flags at Old Trafford will fly at half-mast for the match against Real Sociedad.👑🕊️
