Brendan Rodgers Vows To Fight On Amid Leicester City Sack Speculations.

Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, has admitted he could lose his job after their thrashing by Tottenham on Saturday afternoon.

The Foxes were thrashed 6-2 at Tottenham Hotspur, with Son Heung-min coming off the bench to net a 14-minute hat-trick.

It condemned Rodgers’ men to a sixth defeat in seven Premier League matches, their worst start since 1983 as they go into the international break, sitting rock bottom of the table with just one point.

Having lost 5-2 to Brighton in their last game, they have now conceded 22 goals this season, which is the most by any side in Premier League after seven games, and the most in the top-flight since 1965-66.

When asked whether the result ramped up the pressure, Rodgers, who replaced Claude Puel in February 2019 said: 

"I always believe we can overcome it.

"You didn't see a team today that is short of confidence, that is always a good sign.

"I will always fight on, but I understand the game and six straight losses isn't good for anyone."

“Very much so, it does. I come in every day and do my work, and I can see the players playing with the confidence, however, you’ve got to win games, so I totally understand that.

“I understand the frustrations of supporters and whatever. I can’t hide from that, it’s my responsibility, the scores.

"Whatever happens I'll have a huge amount of respect for the owners of this club because they've given me great support. I understand the game. Whatever happens to me at Leicester whether I stay and continue to fight on, I'll always respect them."
