OFFICIAL: Chukwuemeka Has Been Signed By Chelsea On A Six-Year Deal.
Carney Chukwuemeka has officially complete his move from Aston Villa to Chelsea after reaching an agreement on the conditions of a six-year contract.
It comes after the earlier this week disclosure that Chelsea has agreed a deal with Villa for the 18-year-old permanent transfer to Stamford Bridge.
One of the best players in the country, the midfield all-arounder recently assisted England in winning the Under-19 European Championship by scoring in the championship match against Israel.
He played in each game for the Young Lions and was named to UEFA's Team of the Tournament after a string of impressive showings.
Chukwuemeka started his youth career with Northampton Town before moving to Villa at the age of 12 and advancing to make his senior debut in the Premier League against Tottenham in May 2021. His ball-carrying ability and eye for an incisive pass have been key attributes in a rapid rise through the ranks.
The 2021/22 season marked the beginning of the teenager's professional career. He made his first Premier League start in late August and later played in a Carabao Cup match at Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel's team narrowly won on penalties.
He made a total of 14 games, and in the club's 2-0 victory over Norwich City in December, he became the league's youngest player to score a goal.
On completing his move to Stamford Bridge, Chukwuemeka said: ‘It’s been quite hectic but I couldn’t get Chelsea out of my head the last few days so I’m just happy and relieved that it’s all done.
‘I’m so excited and just can’t wait to get on the pitch, meet all the players and try to win games and trophies with Chelsea.’
