Man United’s Left-Back Alex Telles Completes A Loan Move To LaLiga Club Side Sevilla.

Manchester United defender, Alex Telles has completed a season-long loan move to Sevilla.

Both clubs announced an agreement being made which will see the Brazilian left-back link up with the LaLiga club for the 2022/23 season.

The 29-year-old, who joined Man United from FC Porto for €15million rising to €20m on deadline day in October 2020, will wear the No. 3 shirt with Sevilla, as he looks to get regular minutes in a bid to get a place in Brazil's World Cup squad.

He started 22 games last season which ended in a very disappionting note for the club, and would therefore become the tenth Man United departure this summer transfer window with the current squad under new boss Erik ten Hag's continues to take shape ahead of the new Premier League campaign. 

United sources confirmed that Sevilla would pay Telles's wages in full and there is no obligation to buy.

Telles departs after the arrival of Tyrell Malacia this summer from Feyenoord which pushed him down the pecking order.

Malacia is expected to be United's second-choice left back behind Luke Shaw this season, meaning there would have been greater competition for Telles to get minutes.

 Telles posted a parting message to his United supporters, assuring them that his time with the Red Devils isn’t completely over. “To everyone at United: colleagues, staff, fans. I will be supporting and cheering you on all season. Thanks for the moments so far," he posted on social media.

And to his new fans, he added: “WE GO! I am honoured by this opportunity. I arrive with a lot of desire to add and get the best possible results for Sevilla. I can't wait to debut and be able to help my teammates.”

This would be a second time in less than a year, that Sevilla would be signing a player on loan from United after the loan transfer of Anthony in January who failed to secure a permanent move, and has been given a second chance to prove himself at United.

Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga last season and are managed by former Spain coach Julen Lopetegui, and unlike Man United, Sevilla will participate in the Champions League this year.
