Leicester City Rejects Yet Another Bid From Chelsea For Wesley Fofana.

Chelsea have made a third offer for Wesley Fofana, reportedly worth between £70 million in total, with the latest offer  believed to be £60m plus £10m in add-ons which Leicester City refused.

Fofana has long since emerged as Thomas Tuchel’s top defensive target, with the Blues pushing hard to complete a high-profile swoop before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1.

According to reports, the 21-year-old center back's offer includes add-on terms, some of which Leicester believes are ridiculous.

The Frenchman is not for sale, according to the Foxes, who are currently having defensive crisis, and are yet to win a single game this season.

For Leicester to even consider the West London club's offers, the defender would need to fetch a world record cost of more than £80 million,  the same world-record fee for a defender that they received from Manchester United for Harry Maguire back in 2019.

Chelsea are unwilling to go to that figure as things stand, bringing the negotiations at something of a stalemate.

This summer, Blues have already spent over £170 million, and a recent £45 million offer for Everton attacker Anthony Gordon was rejected.

The team of Thomas Tuchel is also in negotiations with Barcelona about acquiring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, a former striker for Arsenal.

Fofana was not included in the Leicester squad for their 2-1 loss to Southampton on Saturday, according to manager Brendan Rodgers, who claimed he was "not in the proper frame of mind to play."

The defender, who transferred from St. Etienne to the Foxes in 2020 and has earned Under-21 France caps, inked a new five-year contract in March at the King Power Stadium.

Given that Leicester plays Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, it is uncertain if Fofana will rejoin the team this weekend.
