Casemiro Receives Special Real Madrid Send-off Before His Unveiling As Man United Player Later Tonight.

An emotional Casemiro burst into tears during his Real Madrid farewell press conference on Monday morning as he said his goodbye to the Spanish club ahead of his move to Manchester United this week.

The Brazilian midfielder, thanked Los Blancos for the successes he achieved with them. 

With whis friends, family, manager Carlo Ancelotti and president Florentino Perez in attendance, a tearful Casemiro confirmed his Bernabeu exit while vowing to one day return.

“When me and my wife arrived here no one knew us,” Casemiro said. “It was a new country and here we built our life and our family.

“I remember when I first received the Real Madrid call, I was so excited. When I left Brazil I knew I would have played at Castilla, I was very excited because I knew I would have learnt the values of this club 

“I won a lot of titles but the biggest title is when I came here to train every day. I want to thanks everyone, my mother, my wife, this club, all the players and team-mates.

"The greatest title I have had has been to live every day at this great club, Real Madrid! I'd like to thank the club for making me a better player and a better person.”

Playing alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in Real Madrid midfield, Casemiro said; “I can’t forget them. We won a lot together. I really enjoyed football. I’m sure one day I’ll come back. I want to give back all the love Real Madrid gave me. I want to help the club in any way I can in the future.

The reigning La Liga and European champions, have never lost a final that Modric, Kroos and Casemiro all started together in (10) They won every one of them.

No other midfield of this era can match this trio's achievement of winning three Champions Leagues in a row (and five in total).

The holding midfielder won 18 trophies at the club across eight remarkable seasons, including three La Liga titles, three Club World Cups and five Champions Leagues, with the most recent of which came against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side in May.

Casemiro’s move to Old Trafford was confirmed on Friday evening as United paid an initial fee of £60million plus a further £10m in potential add-ons. United had made a deal for the Madrid star their prime focus and the midfielder has penned a four-year deal at Old Trafford with an option for a further year.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the 30-year-old will be unveiled to the Old Trafford crowd ahead of United ’s Premier League clash with Liverpool tonight, and could make his debut at Southampton next weekend.

Casemiro stated that he is “excited” to move to Manchester United during his farewell press conference at Real Madrid.

“I am excited to develop at a big club like Manchester United... He said.

On why he has made the decision to join the Red Devils, he explained: "I am excited to develop at a big club like Man United."

It has not been a good last few weeks for Man United and their fans, having started the Premier League season with two losses, one against Brighton and Hove Albion, and a 4-0 humiliation against Brentford.

They have not also been very active in the transfer window despite losing close to 10 first-team players at the end of a disastrous last season.

Bringing in Christian Eriksen on a free transfer was a very smart signing, while Tyrell Malacia providing high-quality competition for Luke Shaw is also important. Lisandro Martinez has likewise strengthened the centre of their defence. 

After patiently pursuing Ten Hag’s number one target Frenkie de Jong all summer, they finally switched their attention to Casemiro last week and were able to complete the deal with alarming speed.

Marca reports that United have also assigned Casemiro the No.18 shirt, which was vacated by Bruno earlier this summer.

The club's No.18 shirt was famously worn by Paul Scholes for the majority of his time at Old Trafford. 

During his time at Madrid, Casemiro wore both the No.38 and No.16 shirts before sticking with the No.14 since 2015.
