NIGERIAN ATHLETE TOBI AMUSAN BREAKS WOMEN 100M HURDLES WORLD RECORD.

At The Ongoing, World Athletics Championships held in Oregon, United States, Tobi Amusan Of Nigeria Has Broken The Women's 100M Hurdles World Record In Her Semi Final Race With A Time Of 12.12S. 

She becomes the first ever Nigerian sthlete in history to set a World record in ny Event.

The Nigerian Athlete smashes women's 100m hurdles world record with a time of 12.12 seconds beating USA's Kendra Harrison's time of 12.20 from London 2016.

The World Record holder finished ahead of Jamaican Britany Anderson who ran 12.23s, same time as Puerto Rican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in 3rd.

Amusan, who obliterated the world record in the semi-final where she clocked 12.12sec, powered to win the final in 12.06sec.

 She goes home with the sum of $100,000 in prize money. 

This is not the first time Tobi Amusan would be making headline for breaking Records. 

In 2021, Amusan's winning time erases Glory Alozie's previous feat of 12.44s set in 1999 and also saw her become the first Nigerian to ever win a Diamond League title.

Popular Jamaican Sprinter and World Record holder, Usain Bolt, also took to his Twitter handle to congratulate the Nigerian on the incredible feat she achieved.
