NFF Close To Extending Peseiro's Contract

 After the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations was postponed, Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is anticipated to extend his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided to postpone the 2023 AFCON finals because of the unfavorable summer weather in Cote d'Ivoire, which was initially scheduled for June of that year.

The contest will now take place in January 2024.

With the NFF, Peseiro signed a one-year contract after being hired in May of this year.

Now, the NFF will extend Peseiro's contract to the end of AFCON 2024.

The Super Eagles defeated Sao Tome and Principe and Sierra Leone in their opening two matches of the qualifying tournament.

With six points, the three-time African champions lead Group A of the qualifications.

In September, Peseiro's team will play two games against the Guinea-Bissau Djurtus.
