Cristiano Ronaldo Returns To Manchester, Set To Begin Talks Over Future At The Club.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly touched in down Manchester Airport in a private jet from Madrid at 9:30pm last night, before being taken to a hanger for a waiting car to take him home.

Ronaldo hasn't started a game for United under new manager Erik ten Hag since he opted out of the team's preseason trip to Thailand and Australia due to family obligations, as speculations mounted over his future.

The 37-year-old will meet with United ahead of a showdown talks, where he is expected to express his desires of departing the club if a good deal comes up.

It is currently unknown if he will train with the United team on Tuesday, he is anticipated to speak with Ten Hag face-to-face in the coming days.

The Old Trafford club is rumored to consider his return as a good indication. 

Ronaldo has never played in the Europa League in his glittering career and has no intention to start now.

He wants a permanent transfer so he can continue playing in the Champions League after United could only finish sixth last season.

Although there is still some uncertainty around the topic, sources close to the situation indicate that Ronaldo staying at United is becoming more and more plausible.

United on the other hand, have insisted over recent weeks that he is not for sale while Ten Hag has also maintained that the striker is a key part of his plans in the 2022–23 season.

 Man United players had on Monday arrived from Australia, but they will return to training on Tuesday in preparation for their last two preseason games.

During United's preseason trip, Ten Hag was asked several times whether he could give an update on Ronaldo's future, but he emphasized that nothing had changed and that he was not up for sale.

The agreement Ronaldo signed when he returned to United from Juventus last summer has 12 months left on it. Additionally, Ten Hag thinks the option for an additional year could be used.

Speaking on July 18 in Melbourne, Ten Hag said: "I am well informed, and he also has an option (of another year).

"Yes, he could continue until this season, but to be honest, I have a three-year contract here, but in football, contracts are often short-term. We must succeed right away. I therefore don't anticipate that far.

"I have a plan; it takes time, it's a process, but in the end, we have to make sure there is a winning team from the beginning."

Ronaldo was United's leading scorer last season with 24 goals across all competitions, but he was unable to help his team advance to the Champions League.
