Brighton Reject Man City's Bid For Marc Cucurella.

Manchester City made a £30 million offer for left-back Marc Cucurella, but Brighton rejected it.

The 24-year-old international from Spain agreed to a five-year contract when he transferred from La Liga club Getafe to the south coast club last summer.

Brighton last month sold midfielder Yves Bissouma for £30 million, and they are not under any obligation to sell any further players.

Privately, they feel that the City's offer falls far short of the price at which they would be willing to conduct business.

Cucurella, a product of the Barcelona academy, has one senior cap for Spain and was a member of the under-23 squad that captured silver at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

In an effort to win the Premier League for a record third time, City have already signed Kalvin Phillips and Erling Haaland.

However, they are now left with little options for left-back after selling Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal for £32million.

Pep Guardiola wants to sign left-back Cucurella as replacement for the departing Zinchenko. 

City had been linked with various centre-halves when it looked like Chelsea might also sign Nathan Ake before the Stamford Bridge club ended their interest in the Dutchman.

Reports claims that they are favourites to sign LaLiga top defender Pau Torres.

The Villarreal star has been linked with Barcelona and Juventus in recent weeks, but now Villarreal-based journalist Xavi Jorquera Marquez claims City are in pole position.
