Bayern Munich Slam Hefty €70m Asking Price On Robert Lewandoski

Bayern Munich has reportedly raised their asking price for Robert Lewandowski to a staggering €70 million.

Lewandowski's transfer to Camp Nou is now the subject of negotiations between Barcelona and Bayern.

Bayern has already turned down two bids from the Blaugrana, the first for $32 million and the second for $40 million.

This past week, it was widely rumored that Barcelona was preparing a fresh offer of around €50 million, which most analysts feel will be sufficient for Bayern to accept.

Gol, however, assert this past weekend that Bayern are now prepared to raise their asking price even higher, to a minimum of at least €70 million.

They are not prepared to even sit at the table with Barcelona until the Catalan side reach that number.

Infact Lewandowski’s inner circle are surprised Bayern have rejected €45m from Barca, when he turns 34 soon, had only one year left on his contract and at the same time have celebrated signing 30-year old Mané, who was in a similar position, for €32m. 

They have already signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool, but he will not be a direct replacement for Lewandowski.

The Polish star has been Barcelona's top target for the next summer transfer window, and the two sides have been in negotiations since March.

Lewandowski wants to move to Camp Nou because he wants one last challenge at a big club before the end of his career. His contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2023.

The transfer money is proving to be a sticking issue, despite the striker's personal terms having already been agreed upon with Barcelona.

Bayern were anxious to keep Lewandowski next season, but are now said to be content with losing him.

Lewandowski has spent eight years with Bayern, collecting 344 goals in 375 games.

He has won the Champions League once and the Bundesliga eight times in a row amongst other trophies.
