Barcelona Confirms The Signing Of Franck Kessie From AC Milan As Free Agent.

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of former AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie on a free transfer.

 The 25-year-old midfielder was at AC Milan since 2017 and won Serie A last season, but now he'll start a new adventure in the LaLiga.

He will be presented on Wednesday, when he'll sign a contract until 2026. Meanwhile, his release clause of 500 million euros.

Barcelona struck a deal with the player back in March, but waited until now before announcing the Ivory Coast international's arrival.

He will reportedly earn a €6.5 million per year wage packet that could rise based on performance-based add-ons.

"Franck Kessie is a player who contributes in attack and in defence," Barcelona said of their new player in their announcement.

"Capable of winning the ball back in midfield, the African midfielder also has impressive stats as a goalscorer, partly due to his ability to make runs into the penalty area."

 Kessie scored 37 goals and provided 16 assists in 223 appearances for Milan, including those he earned during an initial two-year loan spell at San Siro.

He was named in the Serie A team of the Year for 2020-21, and left the club on a high by helping them lift their first Scudetto in 11 years.
