Barcelona Announces The Arrival Of Robert Lewandowski From Bayern Munich.

 Barcelona have completed the signing and announced the arrival of the deadliest striker in world football.

Both Bayern Munich and Barcelona had announced an agreement in principle on Saturday, but now the Blaugrana confirmed the transfer and the figures. The deal will cost Barca €45m plus €5m in variables.

The Polish star has passed his medical and signs a four-year deal with the Spanish giants. It had been reported that it would be three years with an optional fourth, but now Lewandowski’s contract will take him to the age of 37. He will have a €500m release clause.

Robert Lewandowski scored an astonishing 344 times in 374 games for Bayern Munich, including a jaw dropping 50 times in 46 outings last year.

The 33-year-old leaves the German champions as their all-time second highest scorer behind the great Gerd Muller, and won the Bundesliga title every season he was there (8 years). He won 19 trophies in total, a two-time winner of the FIFA Best  readyAward.

Lewandowski is set to begin a new challenge as he arrives the Camp Nou. He already linked up with his new teammates on their pre-season in the United States.

He was pictured in Barcelona shirt for the first time during the warm-up, as the club ran a 6-0 riot over Inter Miami courtesy of goals from Aubameyang, Raphinha, Fati, Gavi, Depay and Dembelé, though Lewandowski watched from the bench.

He is expected to play his first match for the Catalans against rivals Real Madrid on July 24.

Speaking to the club’s official media, Lewandowski has said of his decision to link up with La Liga heavyweights: “I’m here to help the club return to the top and win as many titles as possible.

“I have always wanted to play in a great La Liga club and this is a great opportunity for me. It is also a challenge for my private life.

“I am a player who always wants to win. We have great players, with a lot of quality, in the squad. I am excited about what we can all achieve together.”

Lewandowski added on working with Barca boss Xavi: “I saw that his ideas fit mine. It has been easy to make the decision.

“I want to play and win titles and I know that with Xavi this will be very possible. He knows perfectly well how to lead Barca. He was an incredible player and now he is a great coach. He has a lot of future and I want to be part of it.”

He added on bringing a long-running saga to a close: “I’m finally here. I am very happy to be at Barca.

“The last few days have been long, but in the end, the agreement has become a reality. I am ready to face this new challenge in my career.

“I’m a guy who likes to win games and titles. I hope the season begins and ends well in this regard.”
