Sadio Mane Completes Bayern Munich Medical, Soon To Be Announced.
Bayern Munich has completed a £35 million deal to bring the Senegalese winger to the Bundesliga, after Liverpool's acquisition of Darwin Nunez from Benfica.
Bayern will pay an initial £27.1million for the Senegalese talisman, which could eventually rise to £35.1m and although neither club have officially announced the transaction.
Mane's flight into Munich landed early on Tuesday morning, so he had plenty of time to get to his medical.
The 30-year-old emerged from the medical center at midday, wearing Bayern training gear and signing autographs.
He is expected to sign a three-year contract with the German giants, and would be introduced as a Bayern player at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
According to media reports, Mane is expected to earn about 250,000 pounds weekly at Bayern Munich.
“When my agent first told me about Bayern’s interest, I was immediately excited... Mane told BILD.
“I saw myself there right away. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world and the team is always fighting for every title. So for me it was a very good idea and the right decision to come here.
“My agent told me that there were enquiries from other clubs. But I got the feeling right away when Bayern presented their plan to me. I found myself in Bayern’s plan more than anyone else.”
Mane paid a visit to his native village of Bambali to see the current work of his charity before heading to Germany to finalize the contract. A £455,000 hospital and a £250,000 school have been established in the region.
Before visiting a new gasoline station that he helped create, the winger also played football with the locals.
