Bernardo Silva Reacts To Barcelona Transfer Speculations, As Man City Sets €100m Asking Price.

Manchester City's midfieder Bernardo Silva is the subject of transfer rumours, with La Liga giants Barcelona interested in signing the 27-year-old.

The Catalan giants have had their eyes on the Portuguese international for some time. Because of the uncertainty surrounding Frenkie de Jong's future at the Camp Nou, speculation has increased even further.

Manchester United has been linked with a bid for the 25-year-old Dutch international. According to recent reports, Barça manager Xavi Hernandez has agreed to allow the Dutchman's departure if the club can find a suitable successor.

And Silva, is the perfect man who will most likely fill the vacuum created by de Jong's departure.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Man City, was recently asked about Barcelona's possibilities of signing Silva in the summer, and he stated that the Blaugrana would find it difficult to make any large transfers given their present financial situation.

The starting price to open discussions would be 100 million euros, an amount that the Catalan club cannot reach.

The deal seems impossible from the outset because the Portuguese is a player that Pep Guardiola likes very much.

And it will be very difficult to imagine Bernardo leaving the Etihad stadium, because he would have to force his way out as Man City do not want to sell.

According to Marca, At a price of 100 million, the annual amortisation of Bernardo Silva could be around 40 million euros, so he would have had to generate around 160 million beforehand.

And that's if they put him ahead of Robert Lewandowski in their list of priorities, which won't happen.

While Barcelona is interested in signing the midfielder, Fabrizio Romano clarifies that no negotiations or offers have been made at this time. Any move would be contingent on the club selling Frenkie de Jong in the summer.
