Erik Ten Hag Given Green Light To Sign Tyrell Malacia As First Man United Signing.

 Feyenoord are allegedly open to bids for highly-rated left-back Tyrell Malacia, with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag hoping to make him his first acquisition.

While the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Jurrien Timber have been widely connected, Malacia appears to be a far more likely possibility for the new Red Devils leader. Lyon have had two bids for their 22-year-old talent rejected by Feyenoord, according to Dutch site Voetbal International.

However, the Eredivisie club has declared that they are willing to arrange a transfer and assist Malacia in reaching the next level of his promising career, which De Kuip believes the Dutch defender is capable of. 

Ten Hag, who is already a fully-fledged Netherlands international with three caps to his name, was reported to desire to sign Malacia by Mirror Footballexclusively in April, and the odds of a deal happening have now been greatly increased.

Malacia, who was born in Rotterdam and joined Feyenoord as a nine-year-old schoolboy, has become a local hero. Fans have referred to him as a "pitbull" because of his ferocious style of play. 

He has impressed a number of scouts, notably those from Manchester United, during his side's 3-2 win against Marseille in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

Ten Hag was unable to sign the excellent tackler while at his previous club last summer due to Ajax's longstanding rivalry with Feyenoord. 

The left-back is an option for Manchester United as a possible replacement for Alex Telles and competitor for Luke Shaw.

Asked about interest specifically from Manchester United, among other clubs, Malacia responded: “I am certainly ready for the next step.”

Malacia, who sat on the bench as Netherlands crushed Belgium 4-1 on Friday, wants to wait until he returns from international duty before making a decision on his future.
