A Miserable Start For England After Defeat To Hungary In UEFA Nations League Opener.

A miserable start to the Three Lions in Nations League campaign opener on Saturday evening.

England's record 22-match unbeaten run (not including penalty shoot-outs) is ended in Budapest, their first defeat to Hungary in 60 years (since the 1962 World Cup).

Their last defeat came against Belgium in November.

Hungary who are 40th in the FIFA World Rankings, secured a 1-0 win against Euro 2020 finalist England.

Dominik Szoboszlai’s penalty gave Hungary their first win over England in 60 years as Gareth Southgate’s side slipped to defeat in their Uefa Nations League opener in Budapest.

The posterboy of Hungarian football, Szoboszlai converted after Reece James had clumsily conceded a spot-kick within minutes of his introduction as a second-half substitute.

The Three Lions next play Germany on Tuesday.
