Victor Osimhen Gives Condition To His Potential Next Club As Transfer Rumours To The Premier League Continues...

As rumours of a summer move to the Premier League continue to surface, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is said to have set the conditions for his next club.

Osimhen who is in a spectacular form, has made 29 appearances, scoring 17 goals and created six assists in all competitions this season. 

Despite suffering a serious facial injury back in November, which saw him miss the 2021 African Cup of Nations tournament with Nigeria, he has played a very crucial role in Napoli's competitiveness in the Serie A.

Since returning in mid-January Osimhen has been forced to wear a protective mask, scoring seven times in his last 10 appearances in the league.

Napoli bounced back from an embarrassing 3-2 defeat away to Empoli last Sunday despite taking a 2-0 lead falling away in the title race. They cruised past Sassuolo 6-1 at home on Saturday to effectively secure a place in the Champions League.

The Super Eagles star Osimhen scored and provided an assist on the day.

Luciano Spalletti’s side are third with 70 points, seven points behind league leaders AC Milan who defeated Fiorentina 1-0 at home on Sunday.

The positives for Napoli is that they are currently 12 points clear above fifth-placed Roma who host Bologna on Sunday night, and three games left to conclude the season.

Osimhen is open to leaving Naples at the end of the season, but would only consider a move to a Champions League club wants, which has ruled out Newcastle United for now at least.

Manchester United have also submitted a 'undeniable' proposal of over €100 million for Osimhen earlier this week, but the need for Champions League football would put their dreams of landing the Nigerian international in jeopardy.

With three games remaining, United sit five points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, but the Gunners, who have also made Osimhen a target, are still fighting for a Champions League ticket and must travel to fifth-placed Spurs to play out the rearranged North London Derby.

Liverpool are another team interested in Osimhen, but given their recent attacking form, doubts remain about their readiness to enter a bidding war that is likely to approach €100 million.

"I read some people saying 'The season is done for him' from the minute I had my surgery," Osimhen told BBC Sport

"'When he returns, he won't go head-to-head with a defender,' says the coach. 'He can't nod the ball even with a mask on,' and stuffs like that. 

"Most of all the doubts serve as a source of motivation for me. Because I know who I am and what sort of heart I possess. It means a lot to me to be able to come back and keep scoring the goals.

"I thank everyone who has worked so hard to make sure I'm okay, even with the surgery and everything." They probably didn't think I'd be able to get back to my best because of the impact the incident had on my mental health".

The former Wolfsburg and Lille player also stated that the Serie A is really a difficult league, but it has set him up for success no matter where he ends up after now.

"A player like me never backs down no matter the situations, no matter the score line, no matter the team I play for. I want to go so hard, I want to go so extreme to get my goals and I believe that without these early setbacks, I can actually accomplish more and also help the team."
