"The Quadruple Is Possible, And It's Revenge Mission" Mo Salah Calls The Liverpool UCL Final Against Real Madrid After Picking Up The FWA Award.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has received his latest award as the Football Writers Association (FWA) men's Player Of The Year.

Salah was nominated as Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association, a group of around 400 journalists, and the award was presented to the him by Liverpool striking legend Ian Rush in London on Thursday evening.

The Egyptian star gained 48% of the vote from the members of the FWA, and wins the award for the second time after his win in 2017-18.

He has had an outstanding season which has seen him become the topscorer in the Premier League with 22 goals, and also the player with the most assist with 13. He has scored 30 goals in 46 appearance for the Reds in all competitions this season.

After the award presentation Mo Salah was asked by few journalist about the hope of Liverpool winining the quadruple, saying that he is confidence that liverpool will win all.

As reported by Liverpoolfc.com, Salah was clearly delighted to win the award but explained his focus is to help the team add more trophies to the Carabao Cup they won back in Feburary.

“It feels great. First of all, I want to thank everybody who voted for me. Of course, journalists are a big part of the football family. Hopefully we can win some more this season.

“I just try to enjoy my football and enjoy my time at the club, help the team to win more trophies that’s the most important thing.

Speaking on the possibility of winning the quadruple he said;

"I think so. Not everything is in our hands, we have to win our games in the Premier League and see if City drop points or not. They have a great team, great manager, I'm sure they want to keep winning. But it's possible.  

"We have four games left, City as well have four games left in which they can drop points. We just need to focus on the Spurs game and go from there.

"We've been together for five years, we know what it takes to win. In the last game we were 2-0 down, away, and we managed to come back. That's really important for our mindset, for the next games. We have the mindset we can win any trophy."

Salah also admitted that his target at the start of the season was 40 goals and says he'd rather play Real Madrid in the Champions League final than Man City, as he called the Paris final a "revenge mission" 

He tweeted bullishly after getting his wish of a UCL final against Real Madrid "We have a score to settle."

He added: "I'm so excited, I'm sure the team as well is so excited about it. I'm sure it's going to be a tough game, they've beaten a lot of good teams. We just need to focus on the game. We lost in the 2018 final in Kyiv, it was a sad day for all of us. It's revenge time."

Meanwhile, Chelsea star Sam Kerr also picked up the Women's Footballer of the Year award after scoring 18 goals for Emma Hayes' side, leading the Women's Super League table by one point from Arsenal with one game left this season.
