Ralf Rangnick Holds Two Hours Call With Erik Ten Hag To Discuss About Manchester United Players
According to sources, Rangnick and Erik ten Hag spent two hours discussing the state of the Manchester United squad as power shifted at Old Trafford.
Rangnick, 63, was United's temporary manager for half a year after replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the middle of a disappointing season. When Ten Hag, 52, arrived to take his place in the dugout this summer, he was anticipated to begin a two-year stint as a consultant for the team.
Rangnick, however, will not be taking up this position, as the Red Devils stated on Sunday, and will instead "concentrate completely on his new duties as manager of the Austrian national team." While his brief engagement with Ten Hag came to an end as a result of this, the German took the time to speak with the Dutchman over the phone.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the two managers discussed the state of the team Ten Hag has taken over, which finished sixth in the Premier League last season. The discussions are alleged to have taken place after Rangnick went to Germany and his permanent replacement returned to Amsterdam following the 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace on the final day of the season.
