Barcelona Identifies Top Targets, Having Qualified For The Champions League Next Season.

Barcelona have already qualified for next season's Champions League with a 2-1 win over Real Betis on Saturday, which had appeared to be a real challenge earlier in the season.

Remember, when Xavi took over from Ronald Koeman in November 2021, the Catalan side were in ninth place, but they are currently in good shape to finish second and, maybe more crucially, fight for trophies next season.

Barcelona made it difficult for themselves at the Benito Villamarin, but this is yet another victory with the goals coming from Ansu Fati and Jordi Alba over a strong opponent who are crowned the 2022 Copa del Rey Champions. 

Barca have now beaten all of the top 10 teams since the 42-year-old came control, as he noted after the game.

But it's not simply the numbers that have improved. Barca's character, fighting spirit, passion, and ambition have all increased in recent months, all crucial attributes that provide optimism for the 2022-23 season.

This is said to be just only the beginning of the Xavi's era, with the club now set to embark on a busy summer transfer window that could witness the addition of several star players to the team, as the club's board are already planning ahead of next season..

A total of six targets have been reportedly targeted in the coming summer, and believe landing five new players to the squad could be essential if they are to compete for La Liga title, as well as the Champions League next season.

Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie had already agreed personal terms to join Barcelona, and the club is closing in to sign Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta, alongside other players like Robert Lewandowski, Marcos Alonso, Raphinha and Bernardo Silva etc.

Xavi pointed out that there's still a lot of work to be done;

"I have beaten the 10 top half teams in the second half of the season, something which has allowed them to climb the table. 

"Securing Champions League football is a weight of our shoulders after a campaign that could have been even more complicated, but the team has competed well since November. Maybe we have not played excellently in many games, but we have a winning spirit and are competitive"... The Spaniard added.

"There are aspects to improve. We're winning against direct rivals, though. We've beaten all of the top 10, but we have to be more consistent and always compete."
