Bayern Munich Rules Out Robert Lewandowski Exit, As They Open Contract Talks With The Polish Star.
Barcelona's pursuit of Robert Lewandowski has been hampered by Bayern Munich's refusal to sell the record goal poacher.
Bayern Munich director Hasan Salihamidizic has ruled out selling Robert Lewandowski in the summer transfer window, despite strong interest from the Spanish gaints.
As the Polish star enters the final year of his contract with Bayern Munich, and his future has become a topic of concern in recent weeks. The striker has been dissatisfied with the club's lack of progress on a new contract, prompting speculation that he may be considering a move away from the Allianz Arena.
Barcelona have positioned themselves as a potential destination for Lewandowski as they seek to recruit a new prolific striker to spearhead Xavi Hernandez’s team.
They have moved their emphasis from Erling Haaland to Bayern sensation Robert Lewandowski, with Blaugrana president Joan Laporta acknowledging that the team has a decent possibility of signing him.

Bayern Munich on the other hand are not considering selling Lewandowski in the forthcoming transfer window, according to Hasan Salihamidzic's latest comments.
Despite Bayern's official position that Lewandowski will at least see out his current contract, the club would be willing to let him leave this summer for a fee of no less than 40 million euros.
Lewandowski has scored 48 goals in 41 club games this season, yet Salihamidzic admitted concrete extension talks with the player's agent are yet to take place.
"I completely rule out Lewandowski leaving the club in the summer," the Bayern Munich director was quoted as stating during an interview. "We'll negotiate first, then see how things progress. He'll be under contract through 2023. "What happens after that is still up in the air."
When asked if Bayern wanted to offer him a new contract, Salihamidzic replied, "Of course."Lewandowski is greatly admired. His fans adore him. He is, however, the club's highest earner.
"We must also consider our financial resources and how much money we have.I had a conversation with Lewa. We'll also speak with his representative. He'll be under contract through 2023. We have all the time in the world at our disposal.
"We are delighted of having the best striker in the world. We haven't yet reached an agreement. But that's exactly what we'll do today," Salihamidzic remarked.
Robert Lewandowiski 33' has reportedly made two demands for his contract renewal with Bayern Munich: A new two-year contract until 2025 and an increase to his current salary, which according to unofficial figures amounts to €24m a year.
Bayern traditionally only give players over the age of 30 a one-year contract, the same is on the table for Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller, but it appears that they would be willing to make an exception at this point.
Even though there have been speculations that Bayern Munich is considering Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku as a possible replacement for Lewandowski, the German champions have made it clear that they do not want to move the striker. And contract talks are expected to start soon, putting an end to Barcelona's ambitions of signing the Poland striker this summer.
