"Not Ronaldo, Not Salah" Bukayo Saka Reveals His Toughest Opponent Faced.

Arsenal forward, Bukayo Saka, has named Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets as the toughest opponent he has faced in his career, despite playing against some other top talents such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah in the past years.

The 20-year-old born to Nigerian parent in the United Kingdom, has progressed immensely in the Gunners ranks since breaking out into limelight in 2019 to become a regular first-team starter from the youth team. 

He has been one of the revelations of the season, having bounced back from a horrific Euro 2020 final last year against Italy where he missed a decisive penalty to deny England a chance to clinch the trophy.

It has surely been a positive experience for Saka to learn and grow from as described by manager Mikel Arteta, he has put the difficulties of the summer behind him and playing with freedom. 

This season alone, the England international has made 30 Premier League appearances for Arsenal, scoring nine goals and assisting five, and leading their quest for European football since their last appearance in 2016/17.

The youngster made his senior debut for the Gunners in 2018 and has already made 122 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Saka becomes the latest athlete (footballer) to grace the cover of the monthly men's magazine, British GQ in April.

He discussed his career with the Magazine, detailing some of the best bits of his time as a professional footballer in the game so far, admitting that he struggles to get near Sergio Busquets, who has won 38 major trophies which includes eight LaLiga titles and three Champions League trophies with Barcelona.

The 33-year-old has spent 14-years playing for the Catalan side since coming through the youth ranks, playing 672 times, scoring 16 goals and becoming captain of the club.

The Spaniard made 133 caps for his nation since his debut in a World Cup qualifying game against Turkey in 2009, and was part of the historic squad that lifted the World Cup trophy in South Africa 2010, and also won the European Championship two years later.

“The way he just so elegantly turned me! I came at him to press him, I tried to fake this side then go to the other, and the way he just embarrassed me: I was just like, yeah, this guy is elite... Saka said when asked the best player he had faced in his career?

However, Saka has only come up against Busquets once in his career, when Arsenal played Barcelona in a pre-season friendly in August 2019.

“The way he just took me out of the play, I said, ‘Respect.’ Busquets is three steps ahead of everyone and that’s what makes you a top footballer. That’s what I realised that day.”

Saka who continues moving from strength to strength, would be back to action this Saturday, when Arsenal play away to Southampton.

Mikel Arteta's side would be hoping to bounce back from two consecutive defeats against Crystal Palace and Brighton, as they look to closing the gap in the race for top  four finish.

They are in fifth place with 54 points, three points behind fourth place and fellow London rivals Tottenham Hotspur with a game in hand.
