Mo Salah Remains Speechless Over Liverpool's Contract Extension Deal.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has decided to remain speechless regarding the progress of his negotiations with Liverpool over a potential contract renewal.

The Egypt international simply reiterated that he is focused on achieving the team's objectives right now, and doesn't want to give any updates when asked whether he was confident about extending his contract with the Reds.

Salah's whose contract runs until 2023 and Liverpool may risk losing him on a free transfer next summer if they don't manage to reach a consensus on the renewal of his deal.

"I can't say yes, I can't say no, but I have said many times before about what I want," Salah told Sky Sports.

"But again, I can't go deep into my contract now because it is a really sensitive situation.

"The team need to win and I can't be just going into the news and just talking about my contract. I just focus with the team, and that is it."

"Well there is not much to say but honestly, but what I can say is there are many things people don't know about," added Salah.

"I can't be selfish and talk about my situation. We are in the most important period for the team so I have to just talk about the team, focus on what is coming with the team and that is the most important thing.

"That is all I can say. Hopefully we are going to be more optimistic and see what is going to happen."

Salah has scored 153 goals in 241 appearances for Liverpool since arriving from Roma in a club record fee of £36m deal plus add-ons in 2017.

The former Chelsea winger went on to sign a new long-term contract extension a year later, after scoring 44 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions in his debut season.

He helped the Reds win the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020 for the first time in the club's history after a 30-years of wait, hurts and trials.

Salah reportedly turned down an offer of 400,000 pounds a week back in December, demanding half a million per week to match Cristiano Ronaldo's salary at Manchester United. 

Recent reports state that the Egyptian forward has lowered his salary demands after receiving affection from the club and coach Jurgen Klopp when Egypt failed to make it to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 29-year-old said in January he wanted to stay at Liverpool but that his future was up to the club.

"They know what I want. I'm not asking for crazy stuff," he told GQ magazine at the time.

"The administration have been told the situation. It's in their hands."

PSG and Barcelona are top clubs closely monitoring the situation at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's men are looking to secure a historic quadruple and are 14 games away from achieving that feat.

Having defeated Benfica 3-1 in the Champions League quarter-final first leg tie at the Estádio da Luz on Tuesday night, they pay visit to league leaders Man City on Sunday for a very important Premier League title decider game.

A win for Liverpool takes them top of the standings by two points, while a win for Pep Guardiola's men would see them extend their lead by four points.
