Chelsea Are A Very Lucky Club To Have A Player Like Reece James"... Man United Legend, Gary Neville Heap Praises.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has heaped praises on Reece James, and believes Chelsea are a Lucky team to have the youngster in the their squad.  

Chelsea came into the game on Thursday night fresh off a 1-0 win over West Ham United, while Manchester United had lost 3-1 to Arsenal the previous weekend.

After a goalless first half in which Chelsea had the better chances, with James coming close to finding the net at Old Trafford, but was unlucky to do so, though was a constant threat for Chelsea down the right side all night, having the better of Alex Telles, winning regular duels. The Brazilian needed defensive cover from the likes of Marcus Rashford and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Marcos Alonso finally broke the deadlock with James playing a key part in that goal.

He delivered an accurate cross into the box that was guided into Alonso’s path by Kai Havertz in the 60th minute to give the Blues the lead.

The Blues' lead lasted less than two minutes, however, as Cristiano Ronaldo equalized in the 62nd minute with his 17th Premier League goal of the season.

James was simply outstanding over the course of 90 minutes for the visitors, and former  United player and captain Neville chose to award him the man of the match award for his outstanding performance.

"N'Golo Kante's played well, Alonso's played well, but I'm handing it to Reece James," Neville stated on Sky Sports commentary.

"What a player Reece James is, on that right wing, he's been really brilliant.”

“He looks like a boxer. His distribution, movement, strength. He seems like a nice kid too. He’s a clever lad, could play in any position.

“Chelsea are a lucky club to have him. Outstanding.”

Chelsea, however, can take positives from the result. They have not won at Old Trafford since 2013, but the point yesterday means United can’t leapfrog them in the standings.

They are now six points ahead of fourth-placed Arsenal, and eight in front of Tottenham Hotspur. The West London club are sure of securing Champions League qualification for next season.

While Man United Champions League dreams are over, as they  remain in sixth place having won only two of their last 11 games across all competitions.

James, 22, has five goals and six assists for the Blues in 21 Premier League games this season despite missing much of action due to injury.

James is one of the lowest paid players at Chelsea, leading to other super clubs trying to turn his head over a move.

Real Madrid are one of a host of Europe's top clubs that have approached the full-back about a possible transfer.

Madrid's plan would be to potentially sign the wing-back in the 2023 summer transfer window.
